What is the adoption feed?

It's the live board of every project on BreakPoint. Browse by status (abandoned, adopted, rescued, active), filter by tech stack, recency, and sort order. The default tab shows the freshest abandonments — projects that just hit the network and are looking for a new maintainer.

How do I find a project to adopt?

Accepted Answer

Filter by tech stack you know, set recency to 'last 90 days' for fresh projects, and click any card to read the full story. If the project fits, click Adopt and the original creator will be notified. BreakPoint is pre-launch — no median time yet, the first adoption will set the baseline.

Question 3

What's the difference between abandoned, adopted, rescued, and active?

Accepted Answer

Abandoned: the project is looking for a new maintainer, no one has claimed it yet. Adopted: someone has claimed it and is in the process of taking over. Rescued: the project is shipping again under the new maintainer. Active: the project is alive and well, with a current maintainer who is documenting their work.

Can I browse the feed without signing in?

Yes. The feed is fully public. You only need to sign in (free, magic link) to drop a project or adopt one. No account needed to browse, filter, or read stories.

How do I drop a project?

Accepted Answer

Click 'Drop' in the top nav or go to /projects/submit. You'll need: project name, tagline, story (what you built, why you stopped), GitHub URL, license, and your tech stack. The form takes about 5 minutes. Once submitted, your project appears on the feed within 60 seconds.

What's a 'trending this week' project?

Accepted Answer

Any project that flipped to 'adopted' or 'rescued' in the last 7 days. Trending is sorted by most-recent action. It's a way to see what's actually working on the network right now — a social proof surface for the rescues that just happened.
